Product & Digital Marketing Leader
Culture Committee
I believe company culture and team leadership is a major contributing factor to success. At Heretik, I founded and was the head of the 'Culture Committee', a small group of individuals that was responsible for planning and executing all culture initiatives for the company. We hosted a number of impactful programs and events for employees and clients that live on to this day! Check out this page to learn more about some of my favorite projects!
Employee Stories
I made it a personal growth goal to create a video about each Heretik employee to not only help with recruiting, but also to explore more in video animating. To do this, I produced a video series called 'Meet the Heretiks' that highlighted different team members and departments. We ended up using these videos on job boards and social media platforms when we had open roles at the company and it was a great way for customers to get to know our team!
New Hires, Onboarding, & Orientation
The culture committee worked extensively to create and organize a meaningful new hire onboarding and orientation experience. I developed several company rituals, that are still used to this day. Check out some of them below!
INTERVIEWING AND NEW HIRE ONBOARDING PROCESS
I lead a project in which the Culture Committee created a more organized and thoughtful interview process, candidate tracking system, and new hire onboarding experience. With these resources, we were also able to launched our first summer internship program!
MAD-LIB ICEBREAKERS
I wanted to create a more meaningful 'icebreaker' experience for new employee and guest introductions. I wrote and created a Mad Lib-inspired worksheet that new comers at Heretik could fill out as a way to introduce themselves to the group. If we ever had a departing team member, employees would complete a 'Farewell Mad Lib' as part of their send off. Over the years, I collected hundreds of these and turned them into a book, which was a fun and unique way for our team to reflect on our growth. Check out mine from 2017 when the team first came together.
THREE PHOTOS GAME
Another ice breaker that became a ritual for our team was a game I created called three photos. Guests or new hires would prepare three photos from their phone that represented them and explain why to the team! It became a refreshing and fun alternative to two truths and a lie!
HERETIK BUCKS
I created our in-office reward program called 'Heretik Bucks'. Employees would receive custom fake money for a variety of occasions such as performance achievements, significant milestones, peer recognitions, etc. These Bucks were managed by me and could be exchanged to purchase new amenities in our office. Some notable additions were a Nintendo Switch, a bar cart, desk plants, and more! I also implemented this program with our clients at our annual Heretik Innovators' Summit, where they could use Heretik Bucks in a roadmap prioritization exercise.
Lunch & Learn Program
I started a monthly Lunch & Learn program that invited employees to volunteer to present on a professional topic and pick the catered lunch! During my time at Heretik, I hosted over 30 lunches and eventually transitioned them to a virtual program after we closed the office due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All Hands & Guest Speakers
I have been responsible for creating and coordinating company All Hands presentations at my last three companies. Most recently at Heretik, I worked with the rest of the leadership team to create our monthly All Hands meeting as well as host a guest speaker in-office or virtually. During these meetings, in addition to marketing updates, I often presented company updates and information about upcoming team events or activities. I also managed the company birthday and work anniversary calendar and reward system, as well as the Spark award (employee recognition).
Holidays & Team Building
I planned and hosted hundreds of team building activities, company outings, holiday parties, and more. Check out some of my favorite memories below!
